2025 was a year of profound challenge for our sector. Across the global development landscape, we witnessed contraction, uncertainty, and a shrinking civic space. Many vital organizations faced difficult choices as funding streams shifted and political winds turned.
In this climate, Giwyn recognized a critical responsibility: we had to stand firm. If the environment was becoming harder for women and activists, our walls needed to become stronger.

We are proud to release our 2025 Annual Report, which details how we focused on Strategy, Solidarity, and Digital Strength to ensure we could continue serving Nigerian women and girls, no matter the external weather.
A Rock in a Time of Flux
As our Executive Director, Sybil Nmezi, writes in her opening statement, this year was about building a foundation that can hold the weight of the movement. We launched our 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, a roadmap designed to make us independent, resilient, and ready to support others.
We invested in our internal machinery, migrating our grant-making to Good Grants. This wasn't just an administrative upgrade; it was a move to ensure world-class transparency and efficiency, proving that grassroots organisations in Nigeria can operate with the same digital strength as a global foundation.
Our 2025 in numbers
While we strengthened our systems, our feet remained firmly on the ground. The report details exactly how we kept our promise to the community:
17,335 Calls Answered: The Ms. Rosy Hotline remained a lifeline for thousands, offering judgment-free counseling when it was needed most.
2,460 People Reached via Mobile Clinic: Our "Safe Health Express" vans traveled to 3 states, taking healthcare directly to the doorstep of those most affected by the downturn.
Global Advocacy: From the UN Commission on the Status of Women to conferences in Manchester and Abuja, we ensured the voices of Lagos grassroots women were amplified in global policy spaces.
Looking Ahead to 2026
The report also gives a preview of what’s next. We are moving from pilot to scale. In 2026, we are expanding the Safe Health Express into a fully operational social enterprise, launching a nationwide School-Based SRHR initiative, and standing ready to defend our progress.
We invite our partners, donors, and community members to read the full story. This report is not just a summary of the past; it is our blueprint for a shared future.
Together, we make reproductive choice real.
