Giwyn was in New York at the UN to advocate for the rights and needs of Nigerian women. Ijeoma Egwuatu participated in the annual Commission on the Status of Women to ensure our voices are heard at this global platform. It was an honour to be able to bring the priorities of ordinary people in Lagos to the UN's global stage.

How the matter take dey sheleh!
You can read our statement, detailing the reproductive health challenges that women face in Nigeria. Here we made recommendations to improve the lives of women in our communities.
The Things We Yarn
Our key asks included:
Make the law work for women: improve legal frameworks to protect women's health through the law and medical regulations including reproductive rights.
Boost women's financial independnce: provide women with economic empowerment through better access to finance and business development opportunities.
Strengthen maternal and reproductive health care: prioritise women in policy development and investment in healthcare.
We want to ensure that women in Nigeria - and throughout Africa - can exercise their reproductive rights, so we're bringing this agenda home from New York. We will advocate for legal reforms, provide support to women, and amplify their voices to reach people in power.
Naija women we dey comot cap for una!
We acknowledge the work of activists, organizations, and dedicated women working on the ground. Your contributions are invaluable. We will continue to collaborate to boost women's power across Nigeria.
Our work continues. We will maintain our engagement with the UN and other international bodies to ensure that the concerns of Nigerian women remain a priority.
